This run felt easy. I was never straining or laboring. I was a little stiff at first because of the legs workout in the weight room on Wed. Otherwise, I was comfortable the entire time. I felt good. My toes don't tingle any more.

Easy run on the dirt trail. I think maybe my hamstring feels a little better. It's still there. But it's no longer a constant nag. Maybe my getting rid of the tingly toes, thanks to George, is changing my gait just enough to correct some of what had me tweaked. Who knows?

I felt really good today for the first time in awhile. I felt strong as I crept the pace up. I ran on the dirt trail for a couple of laps, and on the asphalt for one lap.

George's alternate "Lydiard" lacing system seems to be working really well. I've used it now on my 826's, my Bostons, and my Ghosts. I have no more tingling toes. George is a genius!

I ran on the dirt trail today and felt smooth. I wasn't nearly 100% — my hamstring is still pulling on me. I've figured out now that it hurts right at the tendon at the highest, lateral connection point. The pain seems to originate in my ass. Also, George showed me a "Lydiard" lacing pattern that he thinks may eliminate my toes on my right foot falling asleep after ten to twenty minutes of running. I'll see how well that works. I'll try it.

Mardi Gras is beating me down. I keep taking naps. But I'm still groggy.

Snappy little run after work this afternoon. We closed early today for the parades. It was dead. I felt pretty good today. I had a little bite in my legs for a change.

I ran with Ms. Feil this afternoon. We took it easy and ran from my place through the park to St Charles, then down the streetcar line to Louisiana. The crowds were gathering for the parades already. We had to bob (no offense, Billie) and weave through the gathering parade goers, drunks, junk merchants, cops, idiots behind the wheel driving up and down St. Charles, and kids throwing po and snaps at our feet as we ran by.

Easy run through the park from Reily. I ran on the dirt bridle trail. My hamstring is still kind of tight. I can feel it pulling ever so slightly if I pick up the pace at all, or if I dance over the roots under the trees.

I haven't been really consistent, too many days off. I'm going to be sore.

I love running on the parade route. It's a great experience. I ran into a couple of friends of mine who were waiting for the parade to start around mile two on my way out. They were gathering with some Davidson alumni in town either living or visiting. I had a beer with them then continued on.

I took it easy to see if my hamstring would tweak. I took it really easy all last week to give it some time to feel better. It did feel better. But it's still nagging. Both of my Achilles tendons are sore as well. This is the first time I've had Achilles aches in years. We'll see how it feels tomorrow.
